6 Tips: How to Get a Better Sleep

Arianna Huffington said it best when she said ‘Everything you do, you’ll do better with a good night’s sleep.’ Our quality of sleep impacts our health, job performance, relationships, and our happiness. So how do you get a better sleep? That part might need a little coaching. With that in mind, we’re here to help you get your best sleep yet!

1. Keep your sleep to a schedule

Going to bed and waking up at the same time every day helps regulate your body’s internal clock. This includes weekends! By keeping to a schedule, you’ll be fall asleep quicker and stay asleep through the night.

2. Begin a relaxing bedtime ritual

A pre-bed routine done without bright lights (including your cellphones and tablets) helps tell your body when it’s ready to go to sleep. Avoid activities that cause excitement, stress or anxiety which make it difficult to have a restful sleep. Something relaxing will help you get you in the right mindset to fall into a deep sleep.

3. Avoid napping, especially in the afternoon

This is key for those who have trouble sleeping. Power napping may help you get through a day, but it can affect your ability to fall asleep come bedtime. Eliminating even the shortest of catnap will help your sleep in the long run.

4. Exercise daily

As little as 10 minutes of aerobic exercise can dramatically improve the quality of your sleep. Not only does physical activity help reduce stress, but it may actually help regulate your sleep cycle. Working out in natural sunlight and fresh air is especially helpful!

5. Design a space for sleeping and look forward to sleeping with luxurious sheets
